A stray gray kitty was found wandering alone on the streets and was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, she was in really bad shape – her brain was severely damaged, she was extremely weak due to malnourishment and dehydration, and she couldn’t even lift her head up properly. Despite being nine weeks old, she was about the size of a three-week-old kitten. However, with the help of a dedicated team of vets, she slowly started to recover and eventually regained all of her kitten-like behaviors.
While searching for another feline friend at a veterinary facility, Danielle stumbled upon a sweet little kitten that caught her and her husband’s attention. It was love at first sight, and they knew they had to take her home. The kitten had been under the care of their veterinarian, and although they had initially left without her, they couldn’t resist coming back to adopt her into their family.
The pair just couldn’t stop thinking about the adorable creature with big, captivating eyes. After a few days, Danielle reached out to the vet for advice and was advised to take the little one home. Excitedly, her husband Daniel came up with a name for the cat – Luna, inspired by her moon-like eyes. Upon fetching her from the vet, Daniel quickly went to the store to buy her a new bed in the shape of a pineapple. As Luna grew, her moon-like eyes remained just as enchanting, even when she was 12 weeks old.
Her delicate frame was adorned with exceptionally large eyes. She required ample growth and medical attention for a fungal infection, severe ringworm, and heart murmurs resulting from prolonged undernourishment. Daniel notes that her features became more proportional and rounded as she gained weight, leaving the days of starvation far behind her. It’s a chapter in her life that will never be repeated.
After receiving months of dedicated care from a volunteer foster family, the resilient little cat has made a full recovery and shown her true character. Despite overcoming ringworm and heart murmurs with incredible determination, she still experiences headaches when focused or cramped, but remains an inquisitive and playful kitten. The unique Moon has won the hearts of her caregivers with her silly and eccentric personality, often playing with her favorite toy and becoming one with her bed. After overcoming her challenges and growing in size, Luna has been adopted by a loving family in Massachusetts who had followed her journey from the beginning and knew she would bring them joy. Although they will miss her terribly, they are happy to do the right thing for these kids and see Luna thrive in her new home.
