Meet Honey Bee, the lovely kitty hailing from Fiji that has been blind since birth. But don’t let that fool you, as Honey Bee is still a curious and adventurous cat that loves hiking along the trails of her new home in Seattle. It’s a fitting tale for National Walk Your Pet Month which takes place this January.
This kitty has had quite the adventure! From living in the tropical Caribbean to now residing in Seattle with her two humans and four feline friends. She was adopted as a kitten from Animals Fiji and has become quite the outdoors enthusiast, enjoying long hikes with her beloved humans.
One of her favorite things to do is ride on the shoulders of her owners during extended walks. Whether they’re hiking or strolling around, they’ll either carry her or have her on a leash. She always enjoys the sound of water as they embark on outdoor expeditions.
With the mantra of “Bravery, adventure, cuteness,” she has gained popularity as a YouTube sensation. This was after one of her excursions went viral on the platform.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Honey Bee’s passing last night. She was a courageous feline who made the most out of her seven and a half years despite being born disabled in a less developed country. Honey Bee lived a wonderful life and brought immense happiness to everyone she met. Unfortunately, her body couldn’t withstand her illness any longer and she passed away peacefully. Her owners shared on Facebook that Honey Bee lived by the motto of “living your best life” and never missed an opportunity to have fun, travel, and make new friends. She had a big heart and spread joy wherever she went, whether it was through social media or meeting people on walks and hikes. Rest in peace, brave little Honey Bee.
Over time, I have been amazed by the number of individuals who have found joy in following Honey Bee’s life and have shared their kind words of comfort, inspiration, and hope. My intention for creating Honey Bee’s Facebook page was to offer a different perspective from Grumpy Cat, where instead of being grumpy, Honey Bee was always friendly and aimed to spread positivity and happiness.
