Animal neglect, abuse, or abandonment should never be condoned. While some pet owners may feel forced to leave their dogs behind owing to desperation, others exhibit utter cruelty by abandoning their pets to suffer and perish. Recently, a hapless canine was discovered in a grave state, having been left tied to a tree with wounds on his neck and doused in marker ink.
The RSPCA in Queensland, Australia is currently investigating a case of animal cruelty and is determined to identify the perpetrator responsible. Seeking public assistance, the organization shared details of the incident on Facebook, highlighting that a male Mastiff cross with a tan coat was discovered tied to a tree with injuries to his neck and markings drawn all over his body. The dog was found on September 20, 2022, and promptly rescued by an RSPCA Inspector.
After being taken to a veterinarian for treatment, the dog’s journey didn’t come to an end. The RSPCA is determined to uncover the truth behind the situation and locate the individual responsible for abandoning the canine in such a sorry state. Presently, as of September 29, 2022, the RSPCA has yet to identify the dog’s owner or establish how it came to be hurt and deserted. Emma Lagoon, an RSPCA representative in Queensland, stated in the announcement:
The act of abandoning and neglecting animals must come to an end. It is unacceptable to leave a wounded dog tied up to a tree, and the marks on its body show blatant disregard for the animal’s well-being. The dog is understandably frightened, but we are giving it all the necessary care to heal and recover fully. Let us put an end to such cruel treatment of our furry friends.
