While making a visit to the animal control station, Courtney Wingate stumbled upon a cage containing three adorable Lab puppies. As the director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, she couldn’t resist taking them home with her, especially since one of the pups had the most charming smile she had ever seen.
Wingate requested the assistance of Sarrah Walton, a volunteer who quickly came to the rescue of some 8-week-old puppies. Being a fan of the Louisiana State University (LSU), she named the adorable canines after the school’s coach and quarterback, Joe and Burreaux, respectively, as well as O.
After testing negative for parvo at the clinic, the puppies were taken to the rescue center. Unfortunately, Burreaux, the pup with an adorable smile, fell ill soon after reaching the center. He was quickly rushed to the animal hospital where he made a miraculous recovery. Back at the rescue, Walton noticed that Burreaux would flash his tiny teeth in a wide grin whenever someone spoke to him in a sweet tone and praised him for being a good boy. Walton described it as if Burreaux was requesting love and affection from everyone around him.
After the puppies were ready to find their forever homes, a rescue organization shared a video showcasing Joe’s impressive fetch skills. As a result, Joe was quickly adopted. The entire litter was charming and playful, and Burreaux and his sister were also learning how to fetch. The rescue team wanted to highlight Burreaux’s unique talent in a Facebook video, but he wasn’t as proficient at fetching as his brother. However, Burreaux had an exceptional knack for responding to “sweet talk.” The team noticed that Burreaux was always smiling and trying to impress people, so they created a video showcasing his adorable personality. This video has since gone viral, and you can watch it by clicking on the link provided.
In a span of a few days, the video featuring Burreaux’s wide smile has gained over 40,000 views. Despite their sudden popularity on the internet, Burreaux and his sister O are still in search of their forever home. After being saved by Wingate and Walton from a kill shelter, the pups felt fortunate to have been given a second chance. However, Burreaux and his sister are hoping for something more lasting to bring smiles to their faces: a loving family and a stable home.
