A spunky little calico feline, discovered at a garden center, is resolved to regain her footing.
Animal Friends Project’s founder, Carmen Weinberg, was requested to come to the aid of a calico kitten found at a commercial plant nursery in Loxahatchee, Florida earlier this year. A worker had stumbled upon the little feline whilst moving some planters and noticed she had an injured paw. In a state of panic, one of the workers called Carmen to ask for help as they could hear the kitten’s cries in the background. Despite being 40 minutes away, Carmen quickly made her way to the scene and rescued the distressed kitten.
In a plant nursery, a calico kitten was discovered with an injured paw. Elsa quickly picked her up and brought her to Carmen, who promptly took her to an animal hospital for treatment. The poor kitten’s right front paw was badly damaged, and she was covered in fleas. Despite being so young, her eyes were open, but her ears remained folded. Toes, the name given by the vet who treated her, had to have two broken toes removed during surgery.
Toes, a cute little kitten, was delighted to receive care after a harrowing experience. Carmen, who came across the cat, agreed to take up the responsibility of bottle feeding her and taking her to the hospital for daily bandage changes. The feline was named Twinkle Toes and was immensely grateful to have someone to look after her. She purred constantly and eagerly went to the hospital every day, where the staff welcomed her with open arms.

Even though Toes had her little paw in a cast, she was determined to stay active and even began to venture out. The caretaker was surprised at how agile Toes was, as she was alert for longer stretches of time and even asked to be carried around.
This little feline, Toes, has an undying love for playtime and she won’t let anything get in her way. After a few weeks of healing, Toes is now free from her bandages and is an absolute purring machine. Her energy is boundless and she loves to explore all the toys that come her way. With her playful nature and adventurous spirit, it’s no surprise that Toes has transformed into a lively and vibrant calico kitten.
The Animal Friends Project is currently taking care of a cute kitten named Toes who has difficulty putting weight on her paw. However, this doesn’t stop her from playing and using her leg to grab things. Despite her condition, Toes is a sweet kitten who loves attention and responds well when called by her name. The organization assures that Toes will receive proper evaluation and treatment so she can live a happy and comfortable life as a calico cat.
The Animal Friends Project is all about fostering a love for animals and supporting their wellbeing. One particular kitty, Toes, has a real passion for befriending other foster felines. It was evident when Carmen brought home some kittens that needed care, including a mini version of Toes. As soon as the little calico emerged from her nest, Toes eagerly approached her new friend.
Toes made a new friend who was a mini replica of herself through the Animal Friends Project. She greeted her lookalike with some nose kisses and even took on the role of kitten-sitting her. The size difference between the two was noticeable as Toes appeared huge next to the little one.
The Animal Friends Project has a happy story to share! Despite facing some difficulties in the beginning, Toes managed to overcome them and is currently on the path to a bright future.
