Sadly, Arisha had to leave her mother’s house while reminding her to take an umbrella with her. However, her dog Cody was ecstatic as he jumped out and ran towards a puddle. Arisha, on the other hand, cringed as she watched her furry friend play with dirty water. Although she appreciated the joy in Cody’s soul, the golden fur that was now drenched in splashes meant that a bath was imminent. Besides, tomorrow was a long day at work, and it was too early to wake up.
While pondering her daily struggles, she received a message notification on her phone. As she answered the text, a small gray kitten emerged from a wet bush nearby. The kitten hesitantly walked to Cody, who, in turn, sniffed and licked the little creature. Arisha, who was engrossed with her phone, eventually noticed the adorable sight and realized that it was time to head home.
The dog was being obedient and keeping up with Arisha’s pace, while the kitten followed closely behind. Arisha didn’t take notice of the kitten at first, but eventually realized the tiny feline was following her and her dog, Cody. Despite Arisha telling the kitten to “shoo,” the determined kitten persisted and continued to follow Cody. While on the phone, Arisha held Cody’s leash and tightly gripped her umbrella, but the kitten jumped onto Cody’s back without warning.
Cody was taken aback at first when the kitten climbed onto his back, but he didn’t shake the little creature off. Instead, he decided to carry the bundle of fluff on his fluffy back as he ran through the cold, sticky puddles. It turned out to be a wise choice as they approached a dirty stream that flowed rapidly along the asphalt. The kitten clung to Cody’s fur as the brave dog charged through the water without fear of the rapids.
Eventually, they arrived at Arisha’s house where the girl and her mother lived with Cody. When Arisha closed her umbrella and turned around, she couldn’t believe her eyes – there was a kitten snuggled up on Cody’s back! The little cat looked up at Arisha expectantly, but she was too stunned to say anything. Without hesitation, Cody trotted into the entrance with the kitten on his back. Upon seeing her daughter and pet in the window, Arisha’s mother opened the door to let them in.
Arisha tried to tell her mother that the kitten was lost and she would send it back, but her mother stopped her. She saw how wet and frozen the kitten was from being out in the rain and insisted on taking care of it. The woman cooed over the little creature, giving it some milk to warm it up. Meanwhile, she instructed Arisha to take Cody to the bathroom to dry him off.
After an hour or two, the kitten was clean, well-fed, and dozing off on the sofa, purring contentedly. Arisha’s mother suggested they keep the kitten since it had chosen Cody, and Cody had accepted it. From that moment on, the gray ball of fur found a new home with them.
