Nobby, the adorable pooch, entered this world without front legs. The moment he was born, the vet suggested that putting him down would be the best solution. However, Nobby’s owner stood firm and decided to give him a chance at life. The little puppy had a rough start, struggling to feed as his brothers kept pushing him away from his mother’s embrace.
In spite of the heartbreaking decision made by the vet, Nobby’s fate took a different turn when Lou Robinson, a lifelong dog rescuer in Texas, and her husband Mark stepped in. Although Nobby was only four hours old, the couple decided to take on the responsibility of caring for him themselves and disregarded the vet’s advice. They took the puppy home and stayed up all night to ensure he was safe and well-fed through a bottle. With love, protection, and sustenance, Lou and her husband gave Nobby a chance at life that he would not have had otherwise.
Initially, Nobby seemed to be thriving. According to Loui Robinson, “his eyes widened, and his ears perked up.” Nobby was able to bark, sniff, and recognize various sounds.
Things started to change for Nobby as he began experiencing some health issues when he was just one month old. He started sneezing frequently and had trouble with bowel movements. Moreover, bubbles came out of his nostrils. After taking an X-ray, it was discovered that his esophagus was not functioning well. To help him recover, Nobby was given antibiotics and kept in an incubator. Despite the severe condition he was in, Nobby displayed an incredible willpower and determination to survive. He never gave up and fought hard. His foster parents supported him throughout and worked hard to ensure that he could lead a good life.
Thankfully, Nobby’s condition has gotten better over the years. It’s been three years since we first met this charming little one, and he’s proven to be quite resilient.
